PLEASE CONSIDER HELPING! Community Service - Thurston Woods Thurston Woods Village is in need of student volunteers to help with their Run for Residents 5k on May 22nd. Students who sign up to help will meet in front of Thurston Woods at 9:30am and duties will include helping keep the runners/walkers socially distant among other things. The event should be finished by noon. If you would like to help, please email Mrs. Idriss in the SHS office (aidriss@sturgisps.org) no later than 5/20, and include your cell phone number (this will be shared with Thurston Woods in case they need to be in touch that day.)


Students If you are currently 18 or will turn 18 this summer, Viking RV is holding a Job Fair on 5/18 and 5/20. Average wage of $17 - $25.00 per hour. Stop into Guidance for details.


Students... As the weather warms up, please remember to wear school-appropriate outfits, in accordance with the SHS Handbook (available on our website: http://sturgispsshs.ss7.sharpschool.com/high_school/high_school_student__parent_handbook ) If you're unsure, please check with a staff member in the office when you get to school. If your outfit is not appropriate, you will be asked either to change or add an additional layer of clothing. When in doubt, please ask! Thank you.


Job Opportunity Thurston Woods Village has openings in their Dietary Department. The hours would be from 4:30 to 7:30 pm . Once students are over 18 they can work in other departments besides dietary and there are currently open positions in other departments as well. Please contact Ms Gambrel at Thurston Woods (269-651-7841) if you are interested in applying.


Seniors If you plan on attending GOCC next year and have not scheduled your classes yet, please stop into Guidance to see Mrs. Logan to set up an appointment to meet with GOCC on May 19th.


Senior Cross Country Athletes Senior Cross Country athletes are reminded to check their email for the Date, time, and location of the Senior Cross Country Dinner. Please email coach Green if you can not attend.


Job Opportunities Students.... Sturgis Molded Products has part- and full-time summer job openings as a Manufacturing Associate. For more information, check the flyer posted in the hall outside of Guidance, and/or call Ms. Green, 269-659-5176. ......................Allied Universal is also now hiring for the summer. They are looking for students 18 and over, who have a high school diploma. Positions are for security or fire officer. Request to test out of a course Attention 9th, 10th and 11th grade students.... If you would like to request to test out of a course, please check your email for the form sent by Mrs. Idriss on May 13th. Please read it carefully for the general information, and submit the form if you want to proceed with testing out. If you have any questions, please stop in to the Guidance office.


Seniors If you are 18 or older and are interested in being a part time or full time Security Officer, stop into Guidance for job details.


Sports News, 5-13-21 **The varsity girls soccer team lost to Dowagiac 1-2 last night. Scoring for Sturgis was Allison Landess. Rylee Wanamaker, had 8 saves on goal! Athletic Events for today: Varsity Softball home with Marshall at 4 p.m. DH Varsity Boys Golf at Three Rivers-Sauganash GC at 3 p.m. Athletic Events for Friday: Varsity Boys Golf at White Pigeon at KLCC at 9 a.m. Varsity Baseball/Softball home with Otsego at 4 p.m. DH JV Baseball at Otsego at 4 p.m. DH JV Softball game at Otsego has been cancelled.
